Snuggles & Snoozes
My babe has just left for another day - but we did get to watch the sunrise together, which is a bit of a rarity. It was good to watch her from the balcony in the daylight rather than shivering in the dark, trying to make out her small feature navigating the streets to the bus stop. I ashamedly admit that she hadn't quite made it to the stop before the bus arrived and I giggled out loud to watch her run, trying not to spill the coffee sloshing about in its Tim Hortons vessel. Oh what fun ;)
I had fun yesterday. I walked down Robson towards the Skytrain, got off at Metrotown and spent time in there (the weather wasn't fantastic by that stage so I didn't feel guilty about being inside). I found myself in Playdium, which was great, in half an hour I could skate, snowboard and waterski, became a pinball wizard, was a mediocre cop and fell in love with Ms Pacman.
When Axel arrived I played hockey like England (I was a little better at air hockey). We battled a fire together but despite our tireless efforts we were unable to save the Mayor, so we took out our frustrations by racing on bikes, with weapons!
Feeling fully satisfied we headed towards Cheap Skates for a gander. I picked up some skates for a friend back in London and wanted to get Axel some, but was informed that she had too much to carry already (we bought inlines last week and she has to get it all home some how) fair enough.
The shops closed, it started to get cold, so we resolved to go home, wishing that we had toques. The bus finally came but didn't turn down the expected road :( we got off and turned around. Axel remembered that there was a Sodas in the area (there used to be one downtown but disappointingly it's now a sushi bar) so we decided to find it. We hopped onto a bus and watched the house numbers, squinting in the dark, until we were close. Axel spotted it, we got off and found the much awaited coffee (with free refills!!) we were both fading fast. I love Sodas, it's great. The toilet has a mural of drowning celebs, with the ceiling being someone looking down a toilet, very cool, but a little freaky and off putting, so many eyes on you.
After our scrumptious meal we headed home and snuggled in the warmth. This is the life!
