Wet Leaves and Inlines

Skate Star

Yeah, they just don't seem to mix that well, especially whilst battling a gradient. Needless to say I didn't travel quite as far as I expected on my little adventure. I was amused when some guys asked me if I were going to perform a trick, as I was teetering on the brow of a hill, hand casually lent on the near by lamp post (although wanted to grip it for fear of death). I guess I must have had a contemplating look on my face (can I get down in one piece?). I told them that there would be no tricks today, they moved on disappointed, I sighed with relief. Let this be a lesson, that's what you get for buying pre-owned skates, they're more experienced than you are. After they disappeared around the corner and the stray pedestrian wisely crossed the street, I plucked up the courage and let go of my stable friend. I quite enjoyed my little down hill experience, wind on my face. I traveled slower than I expected and have to say that I was a little disappointed that I didn't gain more speed. When I realised this I promptly removed my skates before I got carried away and fell on my arse. Plans for this afternoon? Think I will take in the sun on the balcony and enjoy my nutritional (well, we can pretend) lunch. Then stroll around until it's time to meet my girl. Life is so hard with empty days ;)
